DRUM CAFE & World Tree Fund: Best of both worlds…
By working together with West African artists, we get to know more and more about the living conditions of people in West Africa.
A worldwide problem is the impact that the felling of trees has on the living environment. During our visit in Senegal this was clearly visible and tangible. The cutting itself is difficult to stop because the wood is used for all kinds of (daily) supplies.
What we can do is replant trees in nature and in this way keep the living environment healthy for humans and animals.
Often the local population lacks knowledge and resources to take action against tree-cutting and for replanting the cultivated area.
As Drum Cafe, we want to give something back to all the riches that we use from Africa.
The drums we’ve ordered in Africa have brought us a lot. However, African culture offers us so much more. The oldest way of (group) communication is to convey emotions through age-old rhythms, song and dance.
It is important to work in a more sustainable and CO2 neutral way, we as Drum Cafe cannot stay behind. Drum Cafe therefore sponsors the ANBI Foundation World Tree Fund. World Tree Fund has its own piece of land in Senegal and is committed to protecting cuttings from growing into small trees. Once large enough to grow on their own strength, they are planted in nature again, preferably in an area protected by the government. In this way we fill in the ‘gaps’ that have arisen in the jungle.
As a company but also as a private individual, you can support the ‘maternity ward’ of the local tree nursery.
You thus contribute to the cultivation of various types of cuttings that are cared for and protected for two years. In this way we all contribute to a natural and necessary healthy living environment.
On Google Earth you can see exactly where the jungle is located.
We would love it if you want to support World Tree Fund. You will receive an adoption certificate, photos and a report from the grower with information about the types of trees planted there.
And you will be kept informed of the development of your piece of jungle through photos, personal messages and we can also give presentations at the company where you work.
Not insignificant: Donations to a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI) are deductible from the tax and may be increased by 50% in the tax return.
